Park Lane Apartments

133 luxury apartments have been created during the refurbishment and reconfiguration of this beautiful 1930s building.  Designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and retaining all of its original 600 sash windows.  The interior designers Anouska Hempel Design, were tasked with creating a “contemporary classical style, drawing inspiration from English traditionalism”.  Key to the success of this project was to ensure that the interior of the building was thermally and acoustically comfortable.  The 600 original windows were draughty and inefficient at retaining heat and excluding noise ingress from the busy streets below. Selectaglaze installed its Series 60 tilt-in units which are particularly suitable for traditional sash windows with offset meeting stiles. Spring release catches allow sashes to tilt-in and stay arms safely hold the sash in the open position.  The frames were finished in matt black to blend in with the original windows.
