Ham Yard Hotel is situated in one of the most vibrant areas of London, with Great Windmill Street and Denman Street flanking it and a connecting pedestrian thorough fare running alongside it. Ham Yard has everything guests could want on its doorstep, from an exciting nightlife of bars and restaurants to boutique shops and characterful cafes. The developers soon found that they had problems with noise ingress.  The primary double glazing was not sufficient to exclude the noise produced by Soho’s vibrant night life.  Firmdale Hotels approached Selectaglaze for help in addressing this problem. Selectaglaze has a wealth of experience in delivering solutions to noise reduction and thermal retention.  Its bespoke secondary glazing systems are unique to the company.  The introduction of a secondary unit to the inside of a primary window is the most effective method for combating noise ingress.  A noise reduction of about 45dB is achievable when there is a gap of 100mm between primary and secondary windows. The quality of the overall design of the Ham Yard Hotel has been independently verified by BREEAM, which awarded it a BREEAM 'Excellent rating'.
