Russell Square House

Russell Square House - quiet art deco offices in Bloomsbury

Private

Situated on the corner of Russell Square, this stunning art deco building has undergone a thorough refurbishment including the addition of Selectaglaze secondary glazing. This fine art deco building was in need of a major revamp, in order to bring it up to an A grade modern office space. Selectaglaze was approach by the client to address the problem of traffic noise infiltrating through single glazed draughty windows. Situated next to the busy thoroughfare of Woburn Place, this beautiful building's internal environment was spoilt by constant noise pollution. Over 600 slimline heritage range units were installed. Optimal installation of such units with at least a 100mm cavity can afford the treated property a reduction in noise ingress in excess of 50dB. The cavity created between the primary and secondary windows decouples the panes of glass creating an air gap which dramatically reduces noise transmission. In addition, the units boast high performance twin seals which minimise airbourne noise transmission. Since this project was completed the Series 30 has been superceeded by the Series 31 lift-out.
